A few weeks ago, I visited the historical town of Bamberg in Germany. My mom and I went to the famous Bamberg Old Town Hall to see some porcelain (瓷器). 
We soon found a few blue and white porcelain vases (花瓶). They looked just like the many famous vases we have in China. My mother told me that they’re not original (最初的) pieces from China, but a different kind of vase made by Germans. They’re what Germans imagined vases might’ve been like in China. If you look closely at the vases, you can also see Chinese paintings on them, or at least paintings that are similar to Chinese paintings. The characters in the paintings look both Chinese and German. 
There were many other pieces of porcelain that were also based on oriental (东方的) culture. One was a very elaborate (精美的) chessboard. Chess was a popular game in older times and many legends (传说) about China were spreading across Europe at the time. That’s why people incorporated (融合) Oriental culture into Western culture. 
It was really interesting and enriching (充实的) to visit the museum.
